Cardamom – How I do love you. I opened the jar and drew in a deep breath. Can I sprinkle you in my laundry and on my pillows and toss you in my closets? May I wear a sack filled with your loveliness around my neck and lift you to my nose and breathe in deep whenever I want?
When I open your pods and empty out the delicious innards of your soul – my mouth waters and cannot wait to crush you and add you to my wassail and my shortbread.

You, O Cardamom, are God’s gift to mankind, well, at least to ME. And I am thankful for the opening of my senses whenever you are around.
Enjoy!

not familiar with it, but am always willing to try something new!
it is amazing
Love Cardamom too!! And such a cool name for a spice.
I know! I love to say it over and over…..
I’ve got a container where I keep all my spices – and every time I take the lid off I can smell the excitement of Christmas…
Yes. Isn’t it wonderful? 😀
This is such a magic ingredient! My mom add it in tea and coffee, it give them wonderful aroma while sipping. 🙂 ahh
I haven’t tried in my coffee yet…..soon I will. 😀
I’ve never heard of this. Must go and find some! 😀
It is magnificent!
Are they found at any supermarket?
Maybe. I bought mine at a spice store. You can get it powdered at super markets and that is OK. but the fresh pods are more work but much more flavorful. I am going to put some pods in my coffee grinder with the beans and try that.
Are you in USA?
Yes. I’m in the USA. There is an organic farmer’s market not far from my house. Gonna’ get me some pods! So looking forward to the delightful smell you described! 😀
Cardamons are used in perfumes. I liked them in my curries but some dishonest merchants sell those that have been bleached (white pods, which has been used). Always go green 😉
Good to know these green ones were the best I’ve ever tasted/smelled
