Water

I had the gift of growing up near an ocean.  It both terrifies and soothes me. I’m not afraid to jump in or go on a boat far from shore where land is no longer in site.

However, if I let my mind, I can feel a bit of a fear or panic want to rise up. Then I shut it down. The wonder of it all far outrides the terror. I like to think I have a healthy fear of the ocean.

It’s a natural wonder, the ocean – ever changing colors, ever changing motion and emotions. It is full of underwater surprises.

  1. Yet, you see having grown up by the ocean as a gift – which speaks loudest of the all. I long to live seaside, even though I too have a very high respect for that powerful force of nature and the mysteries it beholds.

  2. ahhh, the ocean…love hearing the roar of the waves on a stormy day…or the peaceful sounds of waves washing ashore …either way, i’m loving it…and the colors, wow, it’s awesome …love the handiwork of God and how He shows us His brilliance through nature!
keep enjoying it, and keep your fears in check (i’m still learning that one lol)

  3. We live fairly near the ocean– and my favorite perspective is from a walk along the beach– I think it’s a little scary out there in the waves!! But I do agree– vast and beautiful! thanks Cate.
